We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health, religion or ethnicity). Please do not send it to us. If you tell us something like this, for example that you need extra access arrangements on fitting day, we will use it only for that purpose.
3. Where we get your information from
We collect most information directly from you, for example when you:
- fill in a form on our website;
- call, email or WhatsApp us;
- book a consultation; or
- place an order.
We may also receive your details from others, including:
- online platforms and directories where you have asked for quotes or contacted us (for example Bark, Houzz, Nextdoor, Yell or Google);
- an estate agent, interior designer or other person who has referred you to us with your agreement.
4. How we use your information and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry, arrange your consultation and prepare your quote. Lawful basis: steps you have asked us to take before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
- To take your order, make and fit your products, take payment, and deal with aftercare and guarantee claims. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To improve our products, service and website, and to deal with complaints and disputes. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To take and use photos and videos of completed work (section 6). Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To ask you for a review after your installation. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. Leaving a review is entirely your choice.
- To send you news and offers (section 5). Lawful basis: your consent; or, for existing customers, legitimate interests together with your right to opt out.
- To use analytics and advertising cookies on our website. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can change at any time using Cookie preferences in the website footer.
5. Marketing
If you are a customer or have asked us for a quote, we may occasionally tell you about similar products, offers or promotions from us. If you are not a customer, we will only send you marketing if you have agreed to it. Every marketing message gives you an easy way to opt out. You can also tell us at any time by email or phone, and we will stop. We never sell your details or pass them to other companies for their own marketing.
6. Photos and videos of our work
As explained in our Terms and Conditions, we routinely take photos and/or videos of our installations. We may use them on our website, social media, online listings and marketing materials. We do not publish your name or full address with them. If you do not want us to take or use photos or videos at your property, please tell us before or on the day of fitting, or at any time afterwards, and we will respect that. If an image has already been published, we will remove it from our own website and social media pages when you ask.
7. Who we share your information with
We share personal data only where we need to, with:
- our fitters and the manufacturer of your products, so that your order can be made and fitted. The manufacturer receives the details needed for the order, such as measurements, product specification and delivery information;
- service providers who support our business, including our website host, email provider, website form and email delivery tools, cloud storage, accounting software, payment and banking providers, and Google (Analytics, Ads and Site Kit) and Automattic (Jetpack statistics) where you have consented to cookies;
- messaging services you choose to use with us, such as WhatsApp (Meta);
- our professional advisers, such as accountants, lawyers and insurers;
- HMRC, the police, courts or other authorities where the law requires it, or where we need to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights;
- a buyer or successor of all or part of our business, who may use your data in the same way as us.
Our service providers may only use your data on our instructions and must keep it secure. We do not sell your personal data.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers, such as Google, Automattic and Meta, may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. When this happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. These include UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum.
9. Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses essential cookies so that it works properly and to protect our forms from spam. Statistics and marketing cookies, including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Jetpack statistics and review widgets, are switched off until you choose to allow them. Our enquiry tracking does not send your name, email address, telephone number or message to Google Analytics. To change your choice at any time, use Cookie preferences in the website footer. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
10. How long we keep your information
- Enquiries and quotes that do not lead to an order: 3 months from our last contact with you, then deleted.
- Customer and order records: for the length of your product guarantee plus 6 years, so that we can honour guarantees and deal with any claims.
- Accounting records, including invoices and payments: 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax purposes.
- Marketing: until you opt out. We keep a short record of your opt-out so that we do not contact you again.
- Photos and videos of our work: for as long as they are useful to show our work, unless you ask us to remove them.
- Website analytics data: in line with the retention settings described in our Cookie Policy.
After these periods, we securely delete or anonymise the data.
11. Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include password-protected accounts, secure (HTTPS) website connections, and limiting access to people who need it for their work. If a data breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) where the law requires.
12. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is normally free of charge.
- Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your data. We may need to keep some records, for example for tax, guarantee or legal reasons, and will explain if so.
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Objection: object to our use of your data based on legitimate interests. This includes an absolute right to object to direct marketing.
- Data portability: ask for data you gave us in a commonly used electronic format.
- Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within one month, or tell you if we need longer for a complex request. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
13. Children
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18.
14. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
