Full Height Shutters in Bedrooms: Ten Recent Installations
Full height shutters are the most popular choice for bedrooms we fit. They cover the window from top to bottom with one set of panels, so they are simple to use and look tidy whether they are open or closed.
What you can see in these photos
These are ten different bedrooms, all with white full height plantation shutters. Some have a single sash-style window, others a wider window split into three or four panels. Notice how the mid-rail (the horizontal bar across the middle) is placed to line up with the window frame, so the shutters sit naturally with the window behind them.
Three choices to make for a bedroom
- Louvre size: larger louvres (76mm or 89mm) give a clearer view when open; smaller louvres (64mm) suit narrow windows.
- Tilt rod: a visible tilt rod is traditional; a hidden tilt rod gives a cleaner look.
- Blackout: shutters reduce light a lot but are not fully blackout, so many customers add a blind behind.
