Shutters With Blinds Behind, and Which Louvre Size to Choose
Two questions come up at almost every home visit: “Can I have a blind as well?” and “Which louvre size should I choose?” These photos help answer both.
Shutters with a blind behind
Shutters cut out a lot of light, but light still gets through around the edges and between the louvres. If you want a darker room, a blind can be fitted behind the shutters. The photos show a blackout blind, a roller blind and a pleated blind with full height shutters.
Louvre sizes
The last photo shows our three louvre sizes, 64mm, 76mm and 89mm, with and without a tilt rod.
- 64mm: a more traditional look, good for smaller windows.
- 76mm: the all-rounder.
- 89mm: the clearest view when open, good for larger windows.
With no tilt rod, the louvres are turned by hand for a cleaner look. See our blinds page and shutters page.
