Shutter Prices: You Only Pay for the Size of Your Window

When you get a quote for plantation shutters, the first price you hear is not always the price you pay. Some shutter companies start with a low “from” price and then add extras for the choices you make along the way. At North London Shutters and Blinds we do it differently: we price your shutters by the size of your windows, and that’s it.

The extras some companies charge for

If you’ve had shutter quotes before, you may have seen charges like these added on top of the basic price:

  • Hidden tilt. A hidden tilt mechanism lets you open and close the louvres without a tilt rod running down the front of the panel, for a cleaner look. Some companies treat this as a premium upgrade.
  • Different louvre sizes. Choosing wider or narrower louvres than the standard size can push the price up.
  • Different shutter styles. Tier-on-tier shutters, where the top and bottom panels open separately, are often priced higher than full height shutters.

Each extra might not sound like much on its own, but across a bay window or a whole house they quickly add up, and they make it hard to compare one quote with another.
