Shutters for Large, Square and Victorian Bay Windows
Not every bay is the classic three-sided shape. Victorian homes often have deep bays with tall sash windows, some houses have square bays with flat fronts, and some newer extensions have very wide bays. Each needs a slightly different plan.
What you can see in these photos
A Victorian bay and a square bay with tier-on-tier shutters, two large bays with tier-on-tier panels, a square bay with full height shutters, and a wide bay with full height shutters.
How we plan a large bay
- Panel widths: wide sections are split into more panels so each one opens easily and does not sag.
- Where panels fold: we plan which way each panel opens so they fold back neatly without blocking each other.
- Lining up: mid-rails and louvres are matched across every section so the bay reads as one.
